SPFPA, Local 1955
Since, I have to do inform you on my page. I am wanting to inform you that your proposed contract is terrible still: AWFUL and the International should be ashamed of themselves!
With new proposal, I've only seen a little wage increase, but there is so much more that you are losing.
1) Did they take out of the negotiated contract about the Step 1's that the Union can't use them to fight grievance on the other steps, including arbitration. This will come to hurt all of you, now and the future. It is crucial that this be taken out before its ratification. We have won several grievance based on past precedence and don't let anyone tell you it's not important. That is one of the crucial reasons you have a Union.
2) The MOU for blending of CR's is a joke! The Union suppose to protect seniority not permit the Company to put it to the wayside.
CR's seniority matters, too! Anyone who is a CR and is put in a bucket they have to wait until there is an opening in a different bucket to switch their preferred bucket. So if you are a 20 years CM with the Company and you go down to a CR, due to health reason, should you be forced to work nights. I don't think so! Or if you had to switch your bucket to a different one for a short time, due of school, health of a child or a parent, whatever it is; when the reason is over you want to switch back, you won't be able to, if the bucket is FULL, you would have to wait until someone leaves that bucket. Why should someone with less seniority get your preferred shifts, while you a senior Cast Member are forced to work one you don't want to. This is unreal!
Remember there is more to a contract than money. The contract should have made the UNION stronger not the COMPANY!
I hope someone will post this to the security groups.

Regarding the upcoming vote on the 30th and the recent warnings about ElectionBuddy:
Many of us are concerned with ensuring our ratification process meets the highest standards of transparency and security.
First, while the summary provides an overview, voting on a multi-year contract without access to the full, unedited language is a major concern. A summary is only an interpretation; the actual contract is what legally binds us. To ensure this vote is ethical, the SPFPA International Executive Board should provide the full tentative agreement for member review at least 72 hours before the polls open.
We deserve to see exactly what we are signing including the specific language on base wages and seniority tiers before we make a decision that affects our livelihoods.
Second, could the SPFPA International Executive Board clarify why a secure, independent platform like ElectionBuddy is being labeled as 'unverified'?
ElectionBuddy is a widely recognized, third-party tool designed specifically for unions to provide tamper-proof, encrypted, and anonymous voting. When members are only given one way to vote and it remains unclear who is actually counting those votes, it raises serious concerns about anonymity and auditing.
To maintain the integrity of our Local and avoid any appearance of 'gatekeeping,' we should be utilizing an independent system that guarantees every member's vote remains private and is counted by an unbiased third party.
A 'One Team' approach must be built on a foundation of trust, informed consent, and modern democratic standards.
