I am a Local 1955 member asking for clarity on the contract voting process. We were told members would have time to review the contract, five voting days, and in-person access. Last time ElectionBuddy helped produce over 1,100 votes. We want ElectionBuddy and in-person voting available again so the process is fair, accessible, and transparent.

Disneyland SPFPA Update: Update: I have been informed that “election buddy” wasn’t successful per the international…. I do not believe that. I am just as angry. Last Wednesday we agreed to allow the members ONE full week from the date received to read the contract and ask any questions BEFORE voting would take place. Ryan is trying to change all of that. And make voting TWO DAYS!!! Ryan is not returning our phone calls and is not answering any means of communication.

On July 31, Dianne Drawdy, former financial secretary of Security, Police and Fire Professionals Local 576 in Baxley, Georgia, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia to embezzling union funds in the amount of $17,900. She had been charged in April following an investigation by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.

The United States Department of Labor (DOL) is investigating the theft of $160,0000 from the union pension funds for workers at California’s Disneyland from a local of the Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America (SPFPA) union.

On November 18, Cullens, an MGM Grand Detroit employee since 2001, delivered a letter to her employer and the Security, Police, and Fire Professionals of America (SPFPA) Local 1111 union notifying them that she was resigning her union membership and revoking her union dues deduction authorization – a document used by union officials to collect dues from workers’ paychecks. She also sent the letters by certified mail to the union on November 21.
